Introduction to the Flame Meditation
a meditation to cleanse, purify and balance the inner and outer bodies

The Flame Meditation was given to humanity through Ananda Tara Shan by the Lord Dwal Khul in 1977.

Meditation
The Flame Meditation is the first step of the progressive meditation system taught by Heart Flow Worldwide. The Flame Meditation uses the energies of eight flames to cleanse, purify, and balance the inner and outer bodies, enabling us to better understand, open up to, and cooperate with Spirit and spread the light. It is the daily "spiritual shower".

Preparation
You may wish to have peaceful music playing while you meditate. Sit comfortably, either with a straight back (legs and arms uncrossed) or in the lotus posture. Close your eyes and begin to relax both your body and your mind.

Consciously inhale the white light while saying to yourself:
"Be still and know . . . ",

then exhale while saying to yourself:
". . . that I Am God."

Do this for three breaths.
Now mentally say three times: "I go within".

Attunement
Visualise a beam of pink and golden light emanating from your heart centre, going up through your crown centre (top of the head) and reaching up to the heart of your I Am Presence (your Spirit body) which may be seen as standing above you. This connects you to God.

Visualisation of the Flames

Each time you ask your I Am Presence to send you a flame, visualise the flame penetrating and transmuting your aura. See yourself in the centre of the flame. Stay inside it for a while, then affirm your union with the flame by saying,
"I Am the ... Flame".

All flames must be seen as clean and pure.
You meditate longer on the blue, violet and pink flames.

  Service

After the meditation, give thanks by sending healing to the Earth.

Ask your I Am Presence to send one or two of the eight flames onto the Earth,
then for a few minutes visualise the Earth surrounded by and filled with this flame,
to help bring peace and spiritual understanding to all.

  Benefits of using the meditation

Just as you obtain control of your body by physical exercise, so meditation leads to control of your mind,
your thoughts, and emotions - in short, of your entire behaviour.

The Flame Meditation will help you to change your personality by gradually transferring the divine qualities
of your Higher Self to your daily consciousness, helping you to bring light to all aspects of your daily life.

This meditation has a particularly deep effect because it involves conscious cooperation between you and
your Higher Self through invocations, affirmations, and creative imagination, strengthening your mental body
and your connection to Soul and Spirit.

The Flame Meditation may be done by calling down colour, flame or light, each of which has a different effect.
Colours cleanse the etheric body; flames cleanse all bodies of the personality and integrate the personality;
light gives Soul vibrations, and should be used less frequently as it is very strong.

When starting to meditate with the Flame Meditation, it is advisable to start by calling down the Colour rather than the Flame,
until you are used to the energies. Advanced meditators can call down the Light.

The meditation should be used once a day.

Regarding participation in meditation

Please note: If you have any serious physical and/or psychological conditions, you are advised against taking part
in meditation techniques such as the Flame Meditation which call upon spiritual energies, without prior consultation
with an experienced meditation teacher. Where serious illness or imbalance is present, the body and mind need to focus
primarily on healing and regaining balance. In these cases, it is better to work on healing, in cooperation with health care
practitioners, through relaxation, positive thinking, stress reduction, and Yoga Nidra (a form of yoga which emphasises progressive relaxation).
